Located at the tip of the Atsumi Peninsula, it plays a major role in the safety of ships passing through the Irago Suido. From here, you can see the Pacific Ocean and Ise Bay, and Kamishima in the distance. It has been selected as one of the “50 Best Lighthouses in Japan” as a memorable lighthouse.
The lighthouse was built in 1929 (Showa 4) to protect the safety of the sea. The dignified appearance is impressive. The promenade is well maintained, and it takes about 10 minutes on foot from the Irago Cape / Koijigahama parking lot. Especially when the sun sets, the atmosphere is romantic.
